Silly Question re. insurance

Would existing melanoma's that are small and not affecting an animal, still be covered should they become a problem or cause another problem in the future, if they appeared before the insurance was taken out?...
In short, should I declare said melanoma's when I take out the insurance

Have you ever had the vet out to look at them?

You should declare them and no they would not be covered neither would any new ones that may occur as melanomas would be treated as a pre-existing condition and the nature of them being progressive/re-occurring. Even if you didn't declare them, if you did claim the insurance company would look into the veterinary history of the horse and also ask the vet how long they thought the melanomas had been present and would therefore still discover they were there prior to you taking out the insurance cover.

It would be insurance fraud not to declare them - should you ever have a claim and they are discvered and veterinary history provie they were known you may find your whole policy is invalid as you "failed to declare" the signature bit at the bottom states "the details provided are correct to my knowledge"

I would definitely declare them if it were necessary to do so hence the question...I told you it was a silly one!!

They are on record..my vet recorded them all on her 2 yearly MOT.
