silly question really-what would you do?

Yard gates are always closed, stop horses getting onto the road if they escaped.

Let myself in and probably find them on the yard, if not give them a ring.

Surely the yard gate should be closed, incase anything espcapes. Do you mean locked?
If it was locked I would ring the client and find out what was happening. the client could just be delayed a little. If i couldnt contact them or theyd just forgotten I'd bill them anyway.

Our yard gate is always closed, do you mean locked.........
If so then I would either ring them or go and take a look tos ee if they were around......

My response might depend on whether or not I'd been there before and what the people were like. If I'd been before and it was a one off, I'd try ringing and leave a message saying I was there and waiting, and that I'd hang around another 15 minutes, or something like that. If they didn't turn up, I'd go home but call them later on to find out what happened.

If it was the first time I'd been, I'd probably do something similar but would not be so forgiving unless they had a darn good excuse!

As for turning around and going straight home.... might if I had PMT and was in a bad mood. Otherwise, I'd be a little more reasonable and do the above

if it was locked.
so no-one would just go straight home?

I take it someone has arrived at your yard and turned around to go straight home?

I would think that either someone was running late, or the yard gate was closed for personal safety, although I would expect that I would be told in advance if this was the case. In the event, I would try ringing and assume they were driving if no answer, then wait 10-15 mins before going home and billing them for travel if it was business!
