Currently I am spending an absolute fortune on supplements for my boy who has DJD. I've seen some good results with horses on Silver Lining Herbs, however not seen anyone who has used the Joint Supplement from them. Had a chat with SLH and they have reccommended me the Kidney Support and the Joint Supplement, so my question is has anyone had any experience with their horses using SLH? :D

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried cartrophen injections via the vet...maybe cheaper in long run? I had a 13yo old cob very lame who has had a good 7yrs (now 20) much improved after the jabs

My horse has had fantastic results with SLH :)

Haven't used the joint one, but have used the kidney one. My horse scoured terribly on and off since I've had him (4 yrs!) vets couldn't find anything wrong and I think I had been through every supplement on the market, still no joy

I started him on SLH in December and after a week the scouring pretty much stopped completely, I have more than halved my shavings bill :D

When my horse was having lameness issues I started him their foot and bone support and he came sound soon after, of course my farrier gets the major credit for that but I am sure it has helped, well I am too scared to take him off it to see.

The product seems to be very high quality, they smell gorgeous am tempted to try some on my dinner :p and you don't need to feed much at all, so I find it cost effective.

Definately worth a try I would say :)

Thanks for your experiences. I have tried injections, he has also just under gone treatment with Tildren. His current supplements he's been on for 3 years and I'm a tad skeptical as to if they are working as effective as possible. So was looking into the SLH and give it a go, if no difference then will head back onto what he is on at the moment.

Thanks for your experiences, it's somewhat of a lottery attempting to find the best for your horse. I so wish it was easy.

I have just started the SLH Kidney and Liver herbs for a horse that suffers anxiety, mudfever, scours and persistant foot problems (abscesses, crumbling hoof etc).

Within 2 days we had a huge abscess and a bit of blood in one of his sneezes. Now on day 5. He's normally a maniac on bx rest but hes extremely relaxed.

Got everything crossed that the powders can flush out the toxins once and for all.
