Hey guys,

Myself and his owners pretty much already know the answer to this but I always think its valuable to get other peoples op pinions/experience.

Nemo's had his hocks treated about 1 year and 3/4 months ago due to "very slight" changes in the hock.
When I first started riding him he had completely lost left canter lead, always moved when you got on, stood pigeon toed, wouldn't canter out on hacks etc..

However after he had his hocks treated he's got left canter back, stands still to get on, started jumping, canters 4/5 laps of the field without any issues..

Soo on Saturday I went to get on him and he started backing up a bit which he never does so I gave him a kick to walk on and he grunted at me and did a tiny buck.. This then went from that to a huge rear followed by about 6 broncs until I was on the floor..His owner said he really didn't look happy..

Now this really isn't like him, he's not done anything like this the whole 1year and a half I've been riding him.. I have however noticed he's not happy putting weight on his back legs when doing things like stretching and picking feet out. Also over the past week or so he's been very keen to just walk off the minute I get on (again something he never did before) and also looking quite tucked up behind.

His way of going hasn't changed in the slightest..in fact when I schooled on Friday he went the best he'd ever gone..But I'm thinking he's just being an honest horse and finally had enough on Saturday??

We are getting his hocks treated again and will take it from there.. His owner is a back specialist so he gets regular treatments and his saddle done etc..

Any one have any other things it might be worth looking into as we are getting the vet out for the steroids anyway??

Really appreciate anyone's advise/opinions or if anyone has had similar problems

X"!

VET for an MOT would be my call.

Fingers x nothing too serious, 18 months for joint inj is about right, so wouldn't be overly surprised if that's the culprit.

thanks, yeah we are getting the vet out to re-treat the hocks and give him a full MOT.. everything he's had symptoms wise is indicating that they need doing again and he's been very honest for the past couple of months probably! His way of going has improved so much that we don't want it to go back to square one again. Fingers crossed it all works out x
