I feel a bit bad now, I've thought and often said alot of the things on this thread to people, mainly cos it was true. Piebalds sometimes do look like cows, some horses are underweight, I have told someone they should put their horse with lami down, some horses have big ears. Each time it has been based on fact, very few people have perfect horses my own included in that.
I've been told so many nasty things about my horses but it's really water off a ducks back, who cares what most people think. Surely it's only your trainer/people you respect opinions that count?
I was told my Highland pony would never show, ofcourse he wouldn't show, he was a stunted little 13.1 pony with no forelock and a long back. What did that matter, he was a first pony and the most fun a child could ever want.
I was told my WB was too talented and too big for me on a regular basis. Well yes that's true on both counts but most people's WB are far too talented for them, I didn't see him breaking his heart that he wasn't doing grade A, he was a lazy git and quite happy with her underachieveing mother. As for being too big, at 17.3hh he was too big for most people
I haven't received too many nasty comments about the current horse other than the odd 'Is there something wrong with her?' 'No.' 'Then why is she so thin' which was a fair point as she looked rather undercondition standing next to the show pony with cellulite. Oh and I've been told she's dangerous and shouldn't be ridden
it's probably true but I don't value my life too highly and she is rather fun with her maddness.
