Right i have emailed simple systems and Jane has suggested feeding the following for my lot...

inky - Lucinuts, greengold and total eclipse
Ty - Lucinuts, luciestalks, total eclipse.

Now my questions are as follows please!!

1. Do the lucinuts need to be soaked or can they be fed as nuts??
2. How do you know how much to start them on??
3. Where exactly do they get all the necessary vits/minerals from, is it from the total eclipse??
4. Anyone know the difference between the greengold and the luciestalks???
Is the greengold fed dry/dampened or does it require soaking as the lucibix does??

It seems you can up the feed or reduce it as you see fit but what i dont understand is does this not affect the amount of vits they are getting???

I will email them tomorrow but im too impatient to wait till them for some answers!!!!

1. Lucienuts do need to be soaked but you can scatter a handful on the floor for them to find without harm.
2.It's verymuch trial and error with the soaking thing, I'd start them on 1 mug full of lucienuts to 3 parts water, I have no idea with minis, sorry!
3. T/eclipse is supposed to be a vit/min supplement so yes.
4. No, but tried lucie stalks and found them dusty so deafed them, mine now just have the purabeet and lucienuts.
5.If you feed aany of the chaffs I'd mix them with the soaked licienuts which will dampen it anyway.
It's 5 am, just got in, I'm goin to bed

Lucie nuts should be soaked but you can feed a small amount dry or mixed with sugar beet.

I just gave them half with their old chaff to start and within a couple of days they were on SS - but mine have never been inclined to any sort of gut problems and eat anything and everything without problems.

Total eclipse should given them all they need. I feed black sunflower seeds as well for their feet.

Greengold has more protein than lucie stalks - basically lucie stalks is just that - stalk end of the alfa plant. Cairo has 3/4 lucie stalks and 1/4 greengold, and Chancer has the opposite as he is still growing and works harder.

I always damp the green gold and lucie down - mine prefer it. In winter it is with speedibeet and summer just good old water.

According to my boys, the addition of a few carrots and other veggies and fruit is essential at all times

Mine have really done well on lucie stalks and green gold - but they are a clydesdale and gypsy cob that are not difficult to feed.

If I want Chancer to add a little weight and sparkle for showing on an occasional basis, I feed him the red bag grass nuts - more go go than oats or you can feed the blue grass nuts for weight gain but not the yipee factor.
