I used to feed to my three natives, but I found it hard to get it ( was a 30 mile trip) I fed Lucie cobs too. They did enjoy them, but I doubt whether it will put weight on as they are just made of Lucerne.
I got bored of soaking them tbh, around £10 a bag they do last a long time though.
I think you'd be better off with a high oil chaff like Dengie Alfa Oil.

Micronised Linseed at a much lower price for a 25kg bag (SS are 20kg) can be got MO from Charnwood Milling, loads are using that.

I use it for my boy. It is a pain to get hold of unless you have a local supplier (luckily one has just opened near me so that will save on the bulk buying). It is also a bit more expensive but i found found the benefits far ouweigh this cost. My boy loves it and I have found the feed has chilled him out and he is really relaxed. I like the fact you feed a fair bit and my boy grazes on it whilst he is in (he is not fed in the summer).

I used SS feeds and we didn't get on with it. It is arduous having to soak so much and it goes off really quickly in the warmer weather. Our mare ate it happily for about 2 days and then refused it. I have also been informed by other people that they have experienced colic in their horses after feeding SS's feed stuff. The volume of the feed you have to give is huge too!!

We found SS feeds great for the warmbloods and horses that were generally good eaters/doers (held their weight) + the mares outside, but for the fussy TB's or those with limited appetites no good as they just wouldn't eat the recommended quantity in a single feed let alone throughout day.

Would have loved to have kept the yard on it but with so many different horse coming and going with different needs we had no option but to change. We just couldn't have horses in hard work which weren't eating properly.
SS tried very hard to suggest diets for specific horses, but the daily quantity required again proved to be a problem.
We are now using just one range of feed which caters for all the needs of any horse which comes in + have actually saved money although that was not a primary consideration.

WE've had really good results feeding it and I love the theroy behind the feeding system.

We have had a couple of horses who won't eat the full ration though. But they've still looked good even on the smaller portions they were choosing

I have used them for about 10 years and certainly will never move from them. i use for a yard of 16 horses of all different sizes, types, ages and conditions. All horses eat up their feed. All look fantastic on it and are calm sane and sensible. I find it extremely economical and really easy to use. I simply make up the evening feed in the morning in the individuals buckets. So no wastage at all. Most horses don't actually have the full recommended amount as they thrive on lots less. I use Lucinuts as my basic feed, add in linseed and brewers yeast to every horse, then add red label nuts or blue label nuts depending on individuals needs. In winter I add in Pura beet which I find very economical. I split the daily amount into two feeds a small breakfast and a large tea. It is a natural feed that is a grazing feed, it is digested slowly - in the hind gut as is hay. It can be fed as a hay replacer for horses with poor teeth. I have never had a colic case or a choke case with the feed.

i have been using it for almost a year my mare usually struggles with her weight in winter time but came thru last winter looking great and it was her first year out too (with a shelter), in winter she has lucie bix, lucie nuts and purabeet with total eclipse as this is the balancer for forage feeds, i dont feed the full recommended amount and so is very economical. I dont find it a bind making the feeds up i just prepare the next days feed the day before you soon learn how much water to add!! If you email or ring SS they are extremely helpful and will advise you what is best to feed your pony, also as the feed is soaked it is easier for the dentally challenged too,

We've had fantastic results feeding their feeds to our 2 neds. They deliver throughout the country now too

Mine used to crib consistently after food. No ulcers, he was on anti-acid type supplements, nothing helped. Have put him on S.S feeds and 9 times out of 10 now he doesn't crib after feeding etc. Plus he's so more chilled back

My two are on SS - they have green gold and just grass and on occasion the grass nuts.

I prefer speedibeet as I found Chancer went a bit fresh on their beet.

I get my brewers yeast and linseed from Charnwood Milling as I use a lot of it and they are much cheaper than SS.

I do like SS feeds as I can give them big feeds which they can be left to work their way through. I don't feed mix and have not done so for years - my gypsy cob has never had mix but only SS products and looks great on it, ditto our clydesdale.

In summer, I change just grass to ruff stuff as they need less cals but still get a good feed with their vits and mins in.

I use it on all 6 of mine. I find it very economical and easy to use. Mine do not have the full rations as quoted as do very well on a redused amount. I use lucie nuts, lucie stalks and total eclipse ( purabeet added in winter). I find it alot cheaper than when i fed happy hoof.

Would def reccommend it.

Also to add, I don't feed the recommended amount either and like Theresa_F says you can get the supplements much cheaper elsewhere. My boy is also a TB not so good doer and he thrives on it
