anyone feed them or know much about them? just thought i'd ask before starting my lot of for the winter ontheir usual grub.

There are several people on here who feed SS. I transferred my boy onto SS about 6 weeks ago now. I really like their approach to feeding no cereals or additives - he really likes his feed and seems to be doing well on it. The lovely thing is that he gets an enormous bucket of food and it is fibre based, has a good amount of energy for his work without being fizzy, and feeding their total eclipse seems to have really helped with his sweet itch. I would certainly not change back now.

Great feed. Contact them direct via their website and they will advice you the best way to feed your type of horse.

Another huge thumbs up for Simple Systems feed from me too. If you give them a call you'll find them really helpful. And if you ever see their Bucket To Barrow Demonstration you most certainly won't forget it.

I feed their lucie stalks and green gold to my two hairy horses. They also get brewers yeast and instant linseed for joints and sweet itch/coats. I have fed total eclipse but changed to linseed and brewers yeast as I wanted to feed more of this than was in the total eclipse. I also feed mine black sunflower seeds for their hooves and in the winter they get speedibeet and a few highlife nuts in their ball.

SS grass nuts are wonderful, but I need to feed really low cal nuts as mine are good doers. I also preferred speedibeet to their version as Chancer for some reason was a little hyper on it but he is fine on speedibeet.

Have also used SS red bag grass nuts when showing Chancer in hand to get a little more condition and spark from him.

I noticed Cairo has a lot more stamina, and they both look in excellent condition - would take a lot to change me from SS feeds now.

Another yay for SS

I have 2 fat tinies, an old TBxcob that used to loose weight in winter but got hyper on most feeds and a young TB.

I use their unmollassed sugar beet for all of them, with either ruff stuff (high fibre grass chaff) or lucie stalk(chopped up lucerne stalks). The oldie and the TB get lucie nuts too (Lucerne pellets). They then all get total eclipse feed balancer. Seems to suit all of them very well.

Unfortunately my horse wouldnt eat it - tried suitable types of their feed by talking with their nutritionist...tho I think it is a really good feed system and know others whose horses thrive on it.
