Hi all

I currently feed my boy on simple systems which we both get along with but my storage at the yard has been cut and as I have no local supplier I have to buy in bulk and dont have anywhere to store it

Have any of you replaced the simple systems stuff with a mainstream feed supplier and to what effect? i currently feed lucie stalks, lucie bix and blue bag grass nuts...

Thanks

When i swapped from SS feeds i moved on to -
Readigrass
Speadibeet
Alfaalfa Pellets from Dengie
And a Balancer

I no longer feed the pellets as i feed other things now as each horse has it's own diet. My horses have looked brilliant since i ditched the SS feeds.

The 'graze on' people do grass nuts if you ask at the feed merchants, trident now do an un-molassed 12hr soak beet (its cheaper than speedi-beet) and dengie alfalfa pellets, Seaweed, brewers yeast and linseed can all be bought from Charnwood milling for a lot less than SS.
Sorry, got no alternative for eclipse recovery.

There is an ebay seller that sells tons of herbal remedies in bags, she produces a mix called herbal shine with almost the same ingredients for £2.49 a 900g bag.
She will also make mixes to your specification, her seller name is naturalhorsesuplies.

As for the alfalfa, the new chaff from topspec looks very natural and very different to any other alfa chop ive seen. Ive bought a bag but havent finished the alfa-oil, so havent witnessed its palatability yet.
