Hope this hasnt been posted about before but is anyone feeding simple systems?

Ive been recommended lucie bix, purabeet and the total eclipse for a laminitic and a horse prone to weight loss.

Also I stated he can hot up quickly with the wrong food, going to collect some at the weekend but wondered if anyone has any experience good or bad

Various recent posts on this. I personally find SS feeds excellent for my two chaps but I feed the low cal stuff as they are good doers. Only thing you may want to add is something like lucie stalks as a chaff replacement or if you want more feed value, then the green gold.

i have used ss for a few years now and use rough stuff, lucie bix ,total eclipse and garlic for the two ponies and rough stuff, lucie bix, purabeet, total eclipse and garlic for the other two horses. i think its great, if you get the chance to get to a talk by the simple system people you will be very impressed by what they have to say. it changed the way i thought about feeding competely it is all natural to what the horse should eat.

a friend of mine uses it, really really rates it. she brought me some samples and i was really impressed by the quality of it. haven't been organised enough to change over to it yet though, really must get my ***e in gear!

Well it looks disgusting but my two love it and seem to be doing well. W is prone to lami so have to be very careful and it doesn't seem to hot him or Cat up. I like the principle of feeds that aren't doctored with additives and once you get the hang of how much water to add it really is simple and there's no waste.

Have fed SS for years and Tilly is featured in their Gallery

. The luciestalks and chopped grass-type chaffs are brilliant as well - not full of straw and mollasses like most chaffs. My oldie still insists on having some hi fibre cubes in his though

love it a lot of horses on our year are on it including mine and he's poistivley blooming on it. Compared to standard feeds it works out quite reasonable to.

A friend has swapped over to it recently for her fizzy mare. She rang them and they advised what to feed.
Mare was like a different animal in her lesson last night - so calm - friend is very pleased
