Does anyone use simple systems feed? I am thinking of changing to it. Have good doers one of which has had lammi and is old now. How do people find it? I have asked for feed advice from them.

I used to feed it to my competition mare who couldn't eat hay or haylage due to choking issues. I fed her the blue bag grass nuts mixed with ordinary fibre beet and the lucie brix. She loved it and looked amazing on it. Its not cheap if you need it as a full forage replacer tho

I have for a few years now. Haycare now, but have fed Purabeet, Lucie nuts, and Timothy chop. Not cheap but free delivery on orders over £80. Usually within a couple of days. 3 of our ponies are in their late 20's and we've owned them all their lives. We've had so much fun with them, mainly driving, single, pair and tandem at Club level.Need some help feeding wise now as they have very few teeth.

I feed Haycare to all of mine instead of chaff, they love it and look well
I chose it as one of mine is lami prone too and it's low sugar/starch (<10%)

All mine have been on it for years now and look fantastic. Our ulcer prone gelding has been much better as well. Currently on soaked lucie nuts with lucie stalks or timothy chop, in the depths of winter or when in hard work we usually switch the chop to build and shine (its quite like alfa a oil) to give some extra fuel. I use their grass nuts as well, as part of their feed or more usually as soup for the competitive endurance ponies. It's disgusting green slop but they love it. Everything from 2yo to 32yo has thrived and had plenty of fuel in the tank without being nutters.
Well.. not the kind of nuttiness caused by feed, anyway :p

Our goats will do anything for lucie nuts (unsoaked) and i use them dry in treat balls as well.

I've used it for the last 3 years or so and find the company brilliant to deal with and products are excellent, i feed my 12 year old ISH and my 2 year old warmblood on the blue bag grass nuts and build and shine - i use the red bag grass nuts if need a bit more more oomph but they both do brilliantly on it - i also like the Lucie nuts, but soak them well and use like sugar beet
or use as a treat or in a snack ball

I use them and love their feeds but the shipping is frustrating. It costs me 8gbp for shipping 100kg (reasonable), and they ship by DHL. The bags of feed are individually boxed (fancy but super unnecessary) and delivered. The poor delivery drivers are always so frustrated coming here carrying these 5 boxes of horse feed up the drive. I've been told off by a driver once for ordering! Felt terrible.
I wish there was a supplier locally to save them the trouble (and the paper trash) but the only feedstore that carries it around here is a nightmare.
I've never got free shipping, not sure how others have. But the feed is high quality and the horses love it. The Lucie mints horses will do anything for.

Simple systems deliver to my door so long as I'm happy to fit in with when their van is in my area.

I can't feed alfalfa but I've used their grass nuts, sainfoin and even got some grass seed from turn. Always good service & high quality.

How do you get on with sainfoin?
I recently had the Equibiome test done on mine and one of the recommended feeds was alfalfa, which I won't feed, and am wondering if sainfoin might be a suitable alternative

I feed Metaslim and Lucie Stalks to my mare who has ems which I manage very carefully and successfully. She was getting very stressy about her food this summer so I did a bit of research around limited diets etc and following that I contacted a few feed companies for advice and liked what Simple Sustems suggested because it seemed to tie in with the train of thought of some of the articles I read. I changed her from Spillers Lite and Lean and their chop to Simple Systems. My mare is so much more relaxed and looking great so I think it has had a positive effect on her mood and health. X

Yes I use metaslim and Lucie stalks for my good doer barefoot pony if she is doing any work.
I do buy eurobeet and Lucie Nuts, Haycare is brilliant, once soaked to doesn't go to a total mush, still has some obvious fibre and all ages do well on it
It is a bit more expensive than other feeds, but I do like the fibre base. So many other feedstuffs have GM soya as the main ingredient and I'm not sure I like that

Edited to add, our local feed store stocks it, tho I have used mail order before.
