Simple Systems - is this normal?

I've recently switched to Simple Systems feed (about a week ago), but my (usually food orientated) horse doesn't seem that keen on it.

He's an incredibly good doer, so hence the change in diet but I'm a bit surprised by his lack of enthusiasm for it! Is this normal?

Yes normal

I usually cut the recommended water to nut ratio by half, this makes it more crumbly than sloppy. The nuts are completely soft, and they seem to like it better this way - worth a try?

Great, than you it's probably worth preserving with then!

He's on Timothy Chop & Lucie Pellets which I was advised to feed unsoaked (I needed unsoaked, for his nut ball and didn't really want to buy two seperate nuts if I can help it!) - but his feeds are dampened down.
