Has anyone used simple systems feed and feeding regime? i would be interested to hear from you.

i am thinking in possibly changing to this but my horse is not a big haylage or bulk eater and would this matter? and would this suit him for showing?

if anyone could let me know their thoughts or ideas please let me know

Love the feeds. The seaweed and linseed gives them a fantastic coat for showing. The feeds are 'large' as they are soaked but I would definitley recommend giving them a go.

I use their Lucie nuts and their non molassed beet and add to feed (HiFi and high fibre nuts) I have an ex racer TB who is now 18 that struggled to keep weight in winter but not anymore, would recommend to anybody. Have to order a fair bit in one go unless you have a supplier near you but the use by dates are long so is not so bad.

I have a good doer but he has allergies and I'm trying to get him off hay as much as possible... Would simple systems be any good forn this?

I started the switch a few days ago, so far so good. He's not a big hay eater (about a slice a night) so I can leave a massive tub of lucie bix and pura beet for him to munch on for a while.

I ordered about £100 worth and still had to pay £14 delivery charge (Newbury, Berkshire) which was a bit of a pain so trying to think of options to reduce that!

simple systems are digested in the hind gut as they are forage so as a hay replacement they work well. I get free delivery as I am lucky enough to be in the delivery area for Simple Systems South West all I have to do is order 9 bags of feed. I use red grass nuts, lucinuts and Pura beet and add in their linseed and brewers yeast so find 9 bags of feed easy to get through.

I don't feed as much as I could do according to Simple System guidelines. But I can tell how well my horses are looking, fantastic coats, relaxed calm horses. Brilliant

If you are purely using Lucie Bix and Pura Beet from the SS range and are being stung for the delivery charge, then you could consider the alternative of Dengie Alfa Beet. This is just alfafa and unmolassed beet and is available from most feed shops.

I like the SS idea but was put off by the delivery charge/bulk order system, so decided to use AlfaBeet instead.

They have quite a few franchisees/distributors set up now where you can just buy one or two bags. Particularly if you are able to collect.

They are really helpful and happy to give lots of advice re feeding without the hard sell. Our horses thrive on their products. The only thing of theirs we don't feed is the Total Eclipse balancer. We feed Top Spec balancers instead as they are more comprehensive than the Total Eclipse. Other than that can't fault their feeds!
