Before yesterday I hadn't jumped Chilli for almost three weeks. No massive reason in particular, I just felt like focusing on hacking out and schooling and then she had a week off as a mini holiday where she was pampered and treated to Equissage sessions, etc.
Yesterday I pooled all the resources at the yard to put together some fences that might help us to prepare for what we'll find out on the cross country course. Both Chilli and I love cross country, it's our favourite thing-however I just don't have the funds to get out schooling as often as I'd like! I either have to rely on lifts from (very) generous friends or hire transport. Also, it was good to be able to adjust the fence heights too.
I used quite literally every single piece of equipment we have-including one of Chilli's feed bins (bright pink, naturally)! I felt I was able to have a really productive session with the princess pony and she was brilliant as ever.
I made some 'skinnys' on a bending line. These were simply fillers with guide poles at the side at first to help us out-me more than her!!!

A corner, which when up to the full height of the feed bin I used what had been the guide poles on the fillers as groundlines.
(Please, do excuse my pretty bad position here)
And lastly I also had a double on an angled line. In the videos and photos you can't see the angle but it was there, promise! We jumped this on a mixture of straight approaches and obviously angled ones.
And now, here's a video for anyone interested.

And now a question for all you lovely folks, does anyone have any tips for more of these types of fences? I'm always interested in trying new things to supplement our 'proper' cross country schooling
It's also a bit of fun for Chilli and something a bit different to regular jump schooling and she really enjoys it.
Thanks for reading!!
