Before I had my horse at the beginning of this year I had perfectly manicured gel nails, well cut highlighted hair, went to work looking immaculate, regularly went clothes shopping...........Now, my nails are au-natural (split and broken), my hair desperately needs cutting and my roots are showing, I go to work in the same clothes I had before my darling boy came along, as for clothes shopping, well, I don't! Any spare cash goes on my boy.

And I swear to god, I've got more wrinkles than before even though I moisturise morning and night. I'm sure it's going/riding out in all weathers.

But, would I have it any other way? Hell no! :)

I've never had my nails done or been one for clothes shopping but I always try to look good, plucking my eyebrows, shaving, primping, hair gets done every 6 weeks etc.

However I would look much better with a whole new wardrobe ;)

Lol! I may paint my nails every couple of months and have my hair cut about once maybe twice a year (:D) and that's pretty much my beauty regime! Although I do my make up before I leave house, have to put some effort in somewhere...

ive always had horses, so nothings really ever changed that way.

I look after my skin, but Ive never bothered about nice nails. I keep my eyebrows plucked, I hate shaggy brows.

I'm afraid I've neverhad a beuaty regime.
Except washing - does that count?

Currently pondering on the best way to get the smell of horse pee out of my hands - they've been thoroughly washed loads of times but still smell.
I must look a bit odd sat at my desk sniffing my hands and pulling odd faces!

My horse has more new shoes than me and gets clipped more than me - might do my makeup now and again but dont have the money or the energy to do anything else:rolleyes:

DITTO! ^^^^

No.

Tbh I can't be @rsed any more, much to my mother's horror as my mother is one of these women that can't go outside until she's put all her make up on.

I used to be very much into beauty. I even started an NVQ in Beauty Therapy at college. I used to read Heat magazine too so I could giggle at other people's fashion disasters and wobbly bits. Now I read horse magazines and horsey catalogues.

I don't know whether it's the horses or age that's made me feel like this. I still pluck my eyebrows because if I don't I end up with a monobrow that would put Ernie's from Sesame Street to shame. And I'll rub some sweet almond oil over my eyes before I go to bed (don't like the chemicals in conventional creams) but that's it.

Rarely, very rarely, I'll put some makeup on to go out with hubby.

I'm also desperate for a hair cut. Haven't had it cut for about two years and the ends are all split and dry. Might treat myself for crimbo.

I try to keep on top of things, dye my hair every 4 weeks, done from a bottle stuff bought from asda or tesco much cheaper than the hairdresser, do my nails about once a fortnight but they are kept short since it hurts like crazy if they break at the yard, make up for work and going out to see friends etc get to use the sauna at the gym makes me feel better

A beauty regime

What's that then?

:D

Funny thing is before I had him, I use to look at the girls/woman down the yard and thought most of them looked really skanky and thought 'I'm never gonna look like that' Oh dear, and now I do

I must get myself a complete overhaul, my OH said "wheres that attractive girl gone?"!!! when I walked in the door the other day

Most of the time, I cant be arsed to shower let alone anything else!! :D

However, I am naturally beautiful and it is very hard to improve on perfection anyway, so why bother?

Yes I do. Mud pack regularly especially in winter after rain, oil my hair at least twice a week, especially after soggy kisses from horsey when hes been eating boiled linseed gloop. Sugarbeet smudge is an excellent eyeshadow and Barley-Ring Kisses for lip-stick.

:D One of my crowning glories was in a department store a few years back, doing my "I'm a good daughter and will coming shopping with you mother dear, if you so desire" routine. We were at one of the big make up counters and one of their walking displays teetered over in her high heels and managed to move her mouth from under 7 inches of make up to ask me "So, dear, what's your skin care and beauty regime?".

I took a step back, and calmly suggested she look at me. "I'm not wearing make up, I smell distinctly of horse urine, I'm wearing torn jeans and a manky polo shirt. My hair is unwashed and casually scraped into a pony tail. I still have flecks of mud all over me from a good gallop this morning. Do I LOOK like I have any kind of beauty regime?"

I've never seen anyone retreat so fast, in such high heels :D

Shower like every day- although i love that horsey smell- but OH doesn't :( never done my nails, hair hasn't been done in about a year. When i go down in the morning i shove on yesterdays clothes and put my hair in an untidy ponytail (not brushed ) brush teeth and put on my holy trainers and drive down :p
BUT i then come home, have a shower wash hair and brush/dry so im not particulary trampy before people get any ideas ;)
thing is i always wear a pair of jeans, pair of trainers, vest top, hoodie, leather jacket and wear the same at the yard but not the jacket obviously :o yeah trampy girl...... I honestly don't see the point of fannying about with makeup etc when you are going to be shoveling $#!+ and exposing yourself to the elements. :)

I try to! Don't need to get my hair done all the time so that's easy to keep on top of :p

But otherwise yeah, nails get done (although then tend to break at the yard :() and keep up with eyebrows, make up etc...

I won't deny I have my scruffy days though when I just can't be bothered... Typically those are the days when I see everyone haha.

I had spray tans once a week, gel nails every 10days and hair cuts every 5weeks. Now I have DIY tan, have normal rubbish nails and have my hair cut every few months! But wouldnt be without my boy! :)

Always had horse so NEVER had a routine as such.

I'm lucky and have nails of granite which have always been long and I don't shape them as yard work seems to do that perfectly and I alway get- 'how do you have nails like that AND horses?' it's great until I properly catch one and instead of it snapping it comes away from the bed OUCH!!! I also have to buy those thin cotton glove which split at tips to allow my brightly coloured nails through- classy:cool:

I have my hair done every 6 weeks and then I get winged at by my husband as 'you spend all that money on your highlight then scrape it into a pony tail or under a riding hat!'

I don't moisturise or tone or whatever and have what a beautician described as 'slightly weathered skin' :o but she also remarked on my lack of wrinkles. :)

I see these pristine mums at the school gate and would what they do all day?

I am what I am- slightly over weigh and weathered but I love my life and wouldn't change it. (even though my roots are horrendous where I'm waiting for head to heal after being double barrelled!)

Well its a struggle! Why is it when I'm smelling like the bottom of a deep littered stable, have hat hair, and hay stuck all over me I bump into lots of people I know. When I have done my hair, put some make up on, have some clean clothes and looking a bit more presentable...I see no one!

I roll out of bed, pull on same clothes from day before, brush teeth, shove my hair in a rough bun on top of my head and pull my buff on to stop straying hairs from sticking up to much, pick up car keys and go...

Come home prior to work, and then do the whole shower, make up, hair, la te dar.. Only reason is I am out meeting clients for my company, don't think they would want to see me in my true horsey state might scare them a mile.

If I am not going out the office then I will miss out the make up stage and go straight in with out popping home for the transformation. However by 2pm ish with the heating on everyone starts complaining about the smell of my boots by the door while I sit there loving it.

If I can't be at the yard because I have to work then the yard can come to me...

Glad I'm not the only one!
