So, I have to confess to singing when I ride to try to make me and Brandy calmer, but I've stuck on repeat in that I sing the same song every time: America, Horse With No Name. It's nice because Brandy provides the clippity-clop background, but it's getting old, so, erm, anybody want to fess up what songs they find good for bawling out to help them with their tempo and rhythm and being calm etc?

Twinkle twinkle little star

and I dont know the name of the other song its quite old but goes 'I see a girl walking down the street singing Do a dilly, dilly dum dilly do, clicking her fingers and shuffling her feet singing do a dilly, dilly dum dilly do'!! Sorry if I got the words wrong but thats what I sing lol..

I sing an Irving Berlin song (probably from the Thirties?) It's called What'll I Do? I sing it when tense on a horse and also skiing, too. It's slow and rhythmic and gets me to calm down a tad. Had it on a tape years ago. Probably get all the words wrong, though - and the melody!

haha i do that too! though my sister told me not to as i am an awful singer but hey the horses dont mind XD!! their feet provide a good beat too!!
er..im currently going through a faze of some of the songs that the girls on I'd do anything sing but most tunes fit tbh!!

lol glad im not alone!!

When I'm schooling i sing Britney Spears Peice of me but I have changed the words to Rhythm is very important you want a peice of me...

I always sing to my girl-I have an awful voice but she doesn't mind at all, she just listens and her little ears twist round when i hit the high notes:) it really does calm her down though-she's a daft arab sometimes and singing on our way home does make a difference. she'll listen to anything! lately it's been anything by low or final fantasy:D

I have sung when riding for as long as I can remember! I rode a young TB out for a pal a while ago - lets put it this way - I don't think she had been out on her own much and it was a very windy day. Those christmas carols come in handy for something!! What singing does is help you to breathe - what do you do when you are tense - HOLD YOUR BREATH! All together after three .......

Ha, I remember going to a friends once and we were washing the ponios and we had to sng cause they were pawing and dancing because of the hose, and then the shettie started rearing up so we got absolutely soakes. From then on it was singing in the rain, post man pat or just going la la ti da hmmmm did de dum, lol
Anything to keep us all going
The classics are alway fun, christmas carols, anything with a nice beat or pace, or humming a film theme, like Pirates of the carribean lol

I always sing

Songs of choice are
Horse with no name
"Hit the road Jack, and don't you come back"
"Sexbomb" - lyrics altered to "stinkbomb, stinkbomb etc.." or "troutpout, troutpout....etc"

Tom Robinson's "Sing if you're proud to be gay" with lyrics altered to "Sing if you're proud to be bay" or "Sing if you're proud to be black, sing if you're happy with that"
( runs back to darkened room and takes medication )

Err, have to confess current faves are hits from The Wombles!!

Did meet a suprised looking dog walker the other day, but Kizzy seems to find it very calming, may make a change to my repotoire soon!!

I have a vast repertoire. I walk my dogs with my ipod and sing through my dog walking playlist (country walks fortunately) then when I ride I have a mental play list (daren't use ipod hacking need all my senses). Current playlist includes Mica - 'Big Girl' for fast work, various folk songs for steadying her up a bit and Rhinestone cowboy for amusing myself.... Tend to have a theme... love singing my head off on out country lanes... better than the shower any day

How funny, I listen to that a lot when riding too

I also like using Take That's greatest hits

which is quite ironic given that Believe wasn't born until 2001, so I feel obliged to share with her the wonder of TT

I also quite like a little chilled out Norah Jones when I'm horseying

Or even a bit of Jon Bon (Jovi
