Possibly looking to purchase one of these - anyone had any experience of them?

my horse travels really well on his own and it would be legal to tow it with a freelander as within weight limit hence the attraction!

any comments welcomed!

I've had one before and loved it. It was immacualte and only paid 31.5k. I know a lot of people will tell you horror stories but I never had any problems with stability etc.

I've just bought one from a friend and will be towing it with my freelander - first outing tomorrow in fact :) Friend towed it with her freelander and loved it.

Not sure why you are concerned about the weight - do you have the exact model of freelander or its unladen, GVW and towing weights please ?

Just found some figures which may or may not be right !!
Using these rough figures -
Unladen = 1500
GVW = 2000
Towing capacity = 2000
IFOR 401 unladen 770
MAM = 1600

IF those figures are correct then towing on a B licence is a no no because the trailer MAM is more than the freelander unladen weight and the GVW + MAM add up to more than 3500
Solution would be to downplate the trailer to 1500 but that lowers the trailer loading capacity to 730

OK for towing with a B+E licence

We had one for about 5 years. We sold it earlier this year because we needed to upgrade car and trailer to tow two horses but if we hadn't needed to do that it would have stayed - it served us well :)
