Has anyone used or knows of any youngstock by these stallions. Looking to breed something to showjump!

Balou du Rouet is a spectacular sire and is proving very popular for showjumpers. Balou is also extremely popular in the US for showjumpers and fancy show hunters due to their wonderful expressive gaits.

A young stallion son is currently standing in Ireland named Abalou-Verte, and he won the 3 yo loose jumping final at Cavan lnternational late last fall. You can view his free jump photo and other photos/pedigree at : http://www.belmonthousestud.com/belmont_site/Belmont_House_Stud.html

Thanks, I'll have a look at that. We put our mare (a grade A showjumper and grandaughter of King of Diamonds) to Sir Shutterfly last year but she didn't catch and we now have a free return to him or something else from the stud and I was just debating whether to change stallions!

From my experience so far, the Sir Shutterfly's have not been as impressive as had been hoped. The Balou's on the other hand are fab! Cruiseline on here has some lovely Balou babies and Sambertino is now standing an awesome son who is now fully graded, etc, called Bon Balou, who is very impressive as is by Balou and out of an Argentinus mare! website for him is: www.flaxlion.com

Our Selle Francais mare has had a stunning foal by Balou, the stud are so pleased she is back in foal to him again and is due mid May.

I have a lovely Balou filly - she has a wonderfull temprement fab paces and even better jump !!

she is in my sig x

I wouldnt think twice about breeding to him again x

Definately Balou having seen both of them in the flesh. Balou seems to have a fantastic temperement and really stamps his stock. Haven't seen any of Sir Shutterfly's but the thing that woud put me off him is how highly strung Shutterfly himself is. Would like to see Sir Shutterfly prove his trainability in competion first.

A friend of mine has 3 Balou youngsters ranging from 9 months to 5 years. They are all lovely with very nice temprements. He has 2 more Balou babies due this year and a Shutterfly baby too.

Hi, I have a five year old Balou du Rouet and a 4 year old Balou du Rouet, both out of different mares, both are very sharp but full of quality, move very well and can REALLY jump.
I also have a Sir Shutterfly 2 year old out of an old fashioned Westfalian mare, Sir Shutterfly has given the filly a lot of quality, she is also very quiet and has a lovely laid back attitude to life. Difficult to judge Sir Shutterfly's stock as he is still young. I have not loose jumped the Sir Shutterfly filly yet, so watch this space.
