Sitting At Office Desk Wishing I hadnt Left Career With Horses! Any1 Doing The Same?!

Don't know! I'm sitting at home on my one day off not really wanting to go and work at the stables tomorrow, I do enjoy it alot but it is tiring and leaves me with little free time or money! I often wonder if I should get an office job instead but worry I will feel like you!

Nah......my office-based job pays me far more than most careers with horses....which enables me to have my own just for fun

Snap! I do like the money to pay for my own horses but I still have to get up very early to the horses before work and don't get home until late having done them after work, and still get wet and cold but have to rush alot more. I also get very frustrated with having to arrange vets and farriers around work and my weekend is the only time I have a chance to get feed and bed etc so on balance I wouldn't say the office job is that much better!

No not really, I wish I had invested more of my time into becoming a trophy wife so I wouldn't have to go to work at all .

Still I think once you've worked with horses you always want to go back...even to the negative bits!!

Plus I had too many ****ty bosses to ever want to go back to a full time career with horses.

gave up my Mon-Fri full time office job for Mon-Weds 10-4 in the office and the rest of my time spent freelancing. I do 7-5 Thurs and Fri and then do feeding and checks for 5 others on the yard, week days only. I still have both weekend days free and take home around £330 a week

I was young, naive and got myself into debt...so im forced to stay in office job...however once i have got it paid off i will def be looking at balancing it a bit more
part-time in office and then probably get some ponies to bring on and sell on.....

I only work P/t have every afternoon off and just sit around bored but would rather be out with horses again, even if it is just checking them, feeding etc..

I agree, that's the best solution. I have worked in offices for years now to afford to live having previously worked with horse which I loved, and now feel like I'm trapped in a life I shouldn't be living. Hate being indoors all the time but equally now too soft to cope outdoors all the time I expect and to unfit!! but so hard to fit in keeping a stabled horse well exercised etc fitting it in around work. Clearly the only answer is be a trophy wife methinks............ if only but would have to love the very rich husband too, that would be the issue!!
