I feel as though I sit crooked in my normal saddle and am constantly having to right myself. I have stopped riding in it until the saddler comes to sort it out as its not fitting horse properly. I had also noticed that pony had a swelling where the stirrup bar sits on the off side. However, having ridden in that saddle with a white numnah underneath, there are even marks underneath the panels to the back so it doesn't look as though the saddle is sitting crooked.

So I assumed it was totally me who sat awkwardly but then I have ridden in two other saddles recently and am sitting straight in them. Is this potentially because the saddle has a much larger seat area wise than the other two?

Re: the swelling under the stirrup bar on the off side - I got violently bucked off on my old horse who also used the same saddle and the stirrup came off with me. Could the force of ripping the stirrup leather off the saddle have moved it slightly? Seems odd it would only be on one side and just wondering about reason why. Or is it because I've been sitting wonky and pushing the saddle over from the offside?

All a bit random really but was wondering about it all as I was out exercising this morning in a borrowed saddle when I realised I wasn't constantly trying to right myself and push myself over from the near side to what felt like I was sitting straight. Any thoughts?!!

Only a week to go before saddler comes. Can't come too soon in my opinion - I just want to get it all sorted asap!!

I've just had saddle out to look at it and it seems that the panels on the near side are completely different to the off side - as in a lot smaller and a totally different shape. Would this be caused by me riding wonky or would it cause me TO ride wonky as in sitting more to the left? Seems odd that its only this saddle I ride wonky in!! It has only been adjusted once for this horse and had some reflocking. Could the saddler have not quite got the flocking right in the first place? She did say I wouldn't need to see her for 12 months so was obviously quite confident in the flocking being ok.

Have this with my saddle, so much so I stopped riding in it and switched to a treeless which my instructor said if it was me that was crooked I would be even worse in a treeless - it doesnt move, unless horse has a particularly ferocious paddy! I have had this fitted and checked by 2 saddlers! Had another saddler out yesterday who was recommended by YO instructor - she said he was difficult to fit as not typical in shape and a bit uneven. The saddle I had problems shifting to the right at the rear (remains central over withers) fitted tighter on the right tree point so was putting more pressure on this point and his movements meant just the seat shifted due to uneven pressure at points. I havent explained this as well as she did but might be worth checking when its on and girthed up if there feels to be a difference at the points?
