God lord. Have logged on to this this morning and all hell has broken loose.
As a total newbie and a complete novice horse owner I find this forum immensely useful for info.
However when you use written word for communication, then add in the passion you all undoutably have, and a dash of personal opinion then sometimes you have a recipe for misunderstanding.
In RL people disagree - its just that usually you can see body language etc and therefore understand that its not personal just a different perspective passionately defended. Added to which when you type you don't use the flowery and placatory language you do when you have a discussion face to face - a good job as all posts would be 6 pages long.
I often don't post not because of "cliques" or anything else but merely because at my stage of horse owning I have little of value to add.
Ironically those who seem to be being critised for being outspoken are the ones who offer constructive comment - if perhaps a little bluntly at times.
If we didn't want to listen to another view point I'd suggest instead of posting on here we would be better off talking to our horses?

This is FORUM, its NOT REAL LIFE. Everyone just needs to get a grip imo, whats said has been said.

Everyone seems to have forgotten about poor FMN in this, who hasnt posted replies to any of this rubbish and whom it all started about in the first place.

Reading over this thread (I logged off before 10 last night) I can honestly say it is a crying shame that this matter (why ask advice?? or whatever started it) has been blown out of all proportion by one member - its quite sad that there has been so much fall out over it. Those of us that offered advice, stand by it - end of. I think admin should add to the Ts&Cs and state that people accusing others of being bullies without proper cause should be punished as bullies are - anyway, never mind, hoping this will all die a death now, I am off out for the morning to ride my pink fluffy pony

ets. This is a prime example of 'picking'. I am sorry, no I'm not stroking my ego, but when you make a statement like this, aimed at one person, when actually a number of people think the same thing, it's a little unfair. But then you are you and can say what you like to who you like.

It is sad its come to this, and I can't see why people can't accept that -

1. If you post photos or anything - you will get comments and feedback - if you are not prepared to listen to them - then why post?

2. Nobody offering advice is making you take it - they are just offering the benefit of their experience to help you, in the nicest possible way.

3. If you choose to say well, that's fair enough however, I prefer to do things this way but thanks for the help, then those offering help need to accept that and let you get on with it.

Its not rocket science peeps! There will always be clashes of styles and personalities on here, I think that EVERYONE whether they are the poster or giving advice or defending the poster - just needs to be able to walk away if it winds them up.

I can see that it can be frustrating if people won't take your help and advice when you are only worried for them, but sadly that is the way of the world, especially with younger members, I know the motive is good in wanting to protect them but you have to let them make their own mistakes sometimes, even if you know what the end results can be.

So.

Not that I want you to leave, but I think it smacks of attention seeking when somebody says "I am never coming back!" and then posts the very next day.

Same goes for FF, but then she was accused of being a bully, which is a pretty serious accusation.
