So I've just come back from an amazing riding holiday in Portugal, where we were privileged to ride some fantastic Lusitano stallions.

The first thing I learnt is they really don't do rising trot. And the second thing I learnt was that my M&S High Impact Sports Bra is definitely not up to the job! :o

So has anyone got recommendations for sports bras for ladies with larger boobs that are up to sitting trot?! The faithful M&S one has done me fine for usual schooling, showing and jumping, but this is a whole other level of bounce management required!

I would appreciate any feedback for brands to try - thank you all!

Sounds like you had a great time! I either use a shock absorber bra or go to sports direct and the usa pro sports bra are in the sale at about 6 quid each keeps the dd's in check lol

You could stay with your current bra and use the bouncing as a measure of your progress :D

I made mistake of using the wrong bra once for a lesson..one of the pull over ones, it was not very effective lol.

Sorry i dont know what sports bra will help.

I just envy that you actually need one!:D one reason i like having long hair is so i cant be mistaken for a male when im riding. :)

I quite like my pull over can't remember where it came from now! I got one from Sports Direct and my god! My horse has a big old canter and they pop out the top of the bra! Sorry that might be too much information.

I have a Shock Absorber but need a new one and have been pondering which to get. I quite like the look of their Ultimate Run Bra - given that running has to be the bounciest sport ever, would it be suitable for riding too? Surely must be pretty good...

I use my BP as a highly effective sports bra. But for occasions when I don't wear it (dressage tests/showing) then I use my normal underwired one with a sports bra over the top. Nothing moves! (And I'm a G).

I wear Enell bras for riding and running. My delightful OH refers to them as my 'Harvest festival' bras, as 'All is safely gathered in!' They are brilliant and keep everything well strapped down and mine do need some serious strapping down!! I haven't yet found a bra that is as comfortable and still does the job required. :D

I once forgot my sports bra I got from sports direct give the neighbour a good eyeful with me doing sitting trot never forget it again lol

I was shock absorber brand for d+
Keeps me from bouncing about much better than any other n I'm fairly big chested (32GG)

Defo the best I've found

Although I did forget mine on wed n it was so distracting riding in a normal bra :/ lol

Try a sports bra with a wired one over the top. Nothing will move, and it's comfortable at the time, though they may ache a bit for a little while when released :)

I have a Panache one - only thing that straps them down. I prefer it to Shock Absorbers but it is definitely a personal preference. My advice would be to go to Bravissimo and try on several. The girls there are great and will help you with the fit. I paid £30 which is a lot but it's worth every penny.

Found a really good one in Tescos - it was £6 in black or white. Great to wear and wash and even better - nothing moves ! Good luck

Old bandage and strap them down that way? I'm with Billy the Kid though, can happily ride (and do sitting trot!) with no bra at all :(

Unfortunatly i am also a member of this group!! Lol i use shock absorber but www.lessbounce.com currently has a sale on, they also have a riding sports bra which doesnt squash everything so you dont look flat chested when in a nice jacket at competitions :) saw them at olympia they looked really good... I just need to get paid now!!! :)

Shock Absorber's are great...other than the fact the two separate fastening used to confuse me!! Keep my 38HH from moving at all! Not that I've tried sitting trot for a looooong time!!

Also a paid up member. Got a terrible case of the giggles in a lesson once while riding sitting trot, 'cos all I could think was OMG they're taking over ! Was in the wrong bra and it was out of control.

I get mine from an online supplier called Lessbounce.com. They do all different brands and offer very good service, so you get to see loads of different ones for different shapes and sizes. Worth a try.

YIPEEEE !!! I am not alone in the black eyed brigade !! I swear by the shock absorber over the top of a bra called "Doreen" by berlei !! Everything kept decent although my other half says I have a mono boob as it all blends into one long booby.....Just need a device to keep the menopausal tummy under control now and I will sit to the trot all day xxxx

Haha, this could be me! I hate my shock absorber and my Doreen has seen better days. I have 'channels' over my shoulders that the straps sit in and find underwired bra's really uncomfortable to wear. Should have been a boy.....

A word of advice: do not repeat do NOT ever buy any M&S "sports bra" with detachable straps, you know, the ones which have a little hook and you can detach them and use the bra as either a halter neck or cross-over the straps behind.

I was doing a nice forward canter on a local common (where the military also train sometimes) and "ping" felt something had been released. The damn thing bobbed around like a ferret trying to get out of a sack for the rest of the ride.

It was impossible nay needed an act of contortion to get the blessed hooky thing back again, so gave up on that. The only way to have sorted it was to find somewhere quiet and take off my top AND strip right back, and put the flippin thing on again, but bearing in mind the military were on maneouvres all around........ decided against that option :)

Flippin stooopid useless bra!

So just a warning OP.

another vote for going to bravissimo and seeing if they can help. What they will do is get you the right size. I waltzed in there a few months ago asking for a 40 D and they sent me out with a 34 G!!!
