My daughter who is 12 needs a new sj jacket, we are having awful probs with sizing. She needs chest size 34 and childrens sizing seems only to go up to 32" which is what she has just grown out of. Was told to look out for maid sizes but this is where confusion is, none of my local saddlers stock maid sizes so only ones we have seen are on internet or in catalogues, so does anyone know the difference between child sizes and maids sizes, somes jackets stop childs at 30" and then start maid sizes from 32" to 36", so the question is, what is the difference between childs and maids sizes (if any). So sorry am rambling, cakes if you get this far. lol

the difference between childs and maids is that the maids cater for hips a, a waist and slight bust. so they are more shaped than the childs jacket. They are also shorter than the ladies jacket - a ladies in a 34 would be far too large for her. if you Google Tagg - they do a lovely range of maids jackets. Maids normally only go up to 34 - after that they become ladies and have the VAT added.

I got my childrens tweed jackets off Ebay. both are maids 34. Took a bit of searching, but I got there in the end... If you want me to email you the measurements of them, then I would be happy to do so if it helps you get one the right fit for your daughter.

Thanks - I am not the OP, but have the same problem and have ordered a Tagg one online in the sale for £32. Hope it fits!

Thank you so much hopefully will now be able to get her a jacket.
