This is my first competition with Hemir and I was wondeing what height would best for us? He doesn't really like jumping small....makes them harde than they are for me, and we just cant get a rythm!! But I have never competed him so not sure wether to play it safe and jump small or take a chance and jump bigger?!

Class 1: Clear round 1'6"/45cm
Class 2: Novice 2'/60cm
Class 3: Intermediate 2'6" to 2'9"/75cm to 85cm
Class 4: 3'3"/1m
Class 5: 2'6" + Puissance


I was thinking the clear round, the intermediate and the puissance? Do you think this would be too much

He would probably jump the 3'3 course but after doing something else before that, he might be a bit tired and not pick up his feet

there are a few showing classes aswell but they are easy to decide if i want to do them or not!!

As you say don't push yourself the puissance would be a bit ambitious as the fence will keep going up and up and will end up nearer 4/5ft. Other than that go and have fun but keep things on the easy side for your first show together.

Go for classes 3 and 4 and see how it goes. The others would be useless if Hemir doesn't like small jumps.

Agreee with Sarah Jane about the puissance for your first show together.
