In the SJ last night. I was going along lovely then suddenly realised as I approached said fence there was no number on it. I then knew it was fence 5 the wrong was

OOPS commentator said 'oh Dee you didn't want to do that, where is the sat nav I told you to get last year' Might as well come again and have your monies worth

I wouldn't mind but I REALLY did know the course back to front, I just got carried away with the flow :D

I then lost my stirrup and had to jump the double with just one

Main thing for me was it was only our 3rd round since my surgery and I was so confident on him :D

You only do it once- apparently! My sister went through a patch where she always forgot the course, no matter how many times she walked it... I have a video of her doing a lovely round of her first 1m BSJA on her pony, and after the 4th fence she pulls right up to a halt, looks around, see's fence 5 about 3 strides away so gives the poor pony an almighty kick and off they fly!

Your horse looks lovely in your sig, and it must be so nice to be out and about again after your surgery. And well done for the double with only one stirrup- I would have pulled out!

Well I have done it at least 4 times of the last few years. Thanks he is a darling, yes it is awesome to be back and competing again. Only been back in the saddle 3 months so doing ok:D it was a little scary but I trusted him.

Ellen Whitaker did it at Olympia so you are in good company :)

And Lolo, I have definitely done it more than once.....!

Phew that's ok then :D

I did it in a speed class , I had to stop dead to remember whether to turn left or right and was then 2nd by 1 second damn it ! I also often have a memory blank as I enter the arena and think I cant remember where to go but then once I jump the first it all comes back. Dont worry about it :D

Erm really? Once?! Wow, maybe I should give up then! I've done it plenty of times over the years. In fact I did it not long ago, OVER THE VERY FIRT FENCE! Well I thought it was the first fence anyway... WOOPS. I had walked the course too... don't ask. I wouldn't mind, but BSJA costs like £15 a class so that was a very expensive one jump!

I'm being optimistic! :P

I actually haven't gone wrong, but I have done XC too many times... Including one memorable moment on an old pony where I knew the next fence was the one that was scaring me but for love nor money could I find it... I cantered round aimlessly for a good 5 minutes on the search for it! By the time I did find it I was so relieved I didn't give the actual fence a second thought, lol!

lol

I also did too many circles in a dr test once, lmao

and went the wrong way in another test.

Have done once SJ, I got abit flustered in the middle of a triple and was busy sorting myself out when I realised we had sailed merrily past the next fence!

The other memorable one was dressage, FH was probably going the best he ever has I was actually enjoying myself ;) and then I rode round the circle for a second and nearly went a third time except after madly beeping the horn I heard the judge  :o

I've done it - and also forgot my dressage test at the first and second events of my season in 2008 - therefore making myself a paranoid wreck for the following two events!

Haven't actually missed one SJ - but have had several of those awful pit of stomach moments whilst frantically searching for the next fence.

I did, however, completely miss a fence at my lad's first ever HT. We would have been in the top three in a class of over 35 and he so didn't deserve a muppet like me on his back being such a dimwit. I swore lots when I realised and still kick myself for it now. Bad mummy. :(

I did go back turbo charged last year and win though - think the frustration aided the situation so something good came out of it :D
