My new horse loves to jump, shes 16.1 and quiet strong after the jump, she just launches off like shes jumping to a swimming pool and thinks yippe wheres the next one!I'm desperate for some exercises to make her come back and think after the jump,as we are just missing out jumps at the moment because I cant turn her!any tips deeply apriciated.thanks.

Welcome to the forum!

I would pull her up to a walk after every fence when schooling at home and it's also a good exercise to keep jumping and turning, don't let her think she knows where she's going. My boy was a bit like this when I first had him but building him lots of twisty courses where he really had to listen to me has helped no end.

She sounds a bit like my boy. I've found one of the best exercises to get him thinking & slow him down is to start with 3 canter poles then turn the middle one into a jump so that he has a pole on takeoff & landing. It gives him something to concentrate on rather than just seeing the fence & hurdling it.
I've also found that if I give lots (almost throwing the reins) in the air he doesn't grab the contact & run on landing.
I also like to do lots of polework with my boy. I've found that working on a nice, balanced canter & practicing shortening & lengthening the canter has helped loads as he now listens to me much more.
Good luck

Welcome!!
Agree with oofadoofa and Befney3. I have practised both exercises, and they both work good.
I practised the first one today btw: canter, jump, walk, halt, turn 180º, canter, jump, walk, halt, turn, ... and again.., and always getting her deep into the jump (always making one more stride before the jump). She was calm, obedient, and disciplined after a few jumps.
