Can someone please tell me how one relates/restricts the other?

I'm sure I've looked this up before, but can't remember

Is one point equal to £9 or something like that?

Its £9 to a point or there abouts and is done off the actual winnings. eg bought my mare with £404 actual and it worked out at 45 points. done accurately its 44.8, but they always round to nearest whole number
