I have recently noticed (over the last few days) my 8yo TB gelding has got a couple of patchy bits of skin on his stifle on both sides. The skin is black and there is still some hair there, but he has a couple of patch areas!
I can't see any lice etc on him and the skin doesn't appear to be sore or particularly itchy. One patch is a little bit scaly but other than that there are no raised areas or anything like that.
Just wondered if anyone had any ideas? I thought it was a little bit strange that it was in exactly the same place on both sides and that maybe it could be caused by sweat?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!! Thanks! x

No it certainly doesn't look like ringworm!

He does sometimes get funny little bits of skin, and when I got him a year ago he was quite 'skanky'! But this just seems a little bit odd!

My tb has got scurfy legs at mo not mud fever or lice, but he has got a few bald patches up his hind legs and hair comin out not massively obvious and not sore.
He has been better since i have added a general supplement to his feed and some oil.
