Hi everyone!
My horse has been diagnosed with skin melanoma today.
The vet is considering to do surgery to take it out. But still, I feel I must do something else! What do you sugest? Is there any drug you think might help?
Thanks,
Sofia

Not that I know of, surgery with wide excision is best option, and better to take it off before it gets too big. I think you can laser some of them instead..? In any case, its not a general anaesthetic, they will just sedate him and use local anaesthetic.
Having said that, loads of horses live just fine with them as long as they don't start rubbing and get ulcerated. They tend to be locally aggressive but not metastasise.
