Skin problem

My warmblood developed a skin problem in pril - an area to the right of his tail became constantly hot/damp, some flaky skin. I cleaned i and cleared teh flaky skin, but since then on the area now has less, lighter-coloured hair than the other side. After any exercise/heat there is a ring around that area which gets very hot and damp (as if sweaty). It does not seem to cause him any discomfort although it looks uncomfortable and unttractive. He is not rubbing the area.

Nothing I have done seems to work - skin barrier gel, salt water, sudocreme, hibiscrub! Any ideas what this problem is and what to do about it??

Has he recently had flu/tet (or similar eg antibiotics) jabs in that area?

hey there, my warmblood has something potentially similar but on the side of his face. Looks like it could be serum/plasma dribbling down the side of his face. Also was a bit scabby, but nothing major. Tried all the same things as you and no improvement.
I'm thinking about getting a skin scrape test by the vet next.
