Hi all,
I have a 13 yr old WBxTB mare on loan who has been with me for about 8 months.
When she was clipped in the winter she was fine, but now, in the summer... She's got bald spots and scabs and rubs everywhere!!
She has very crinkly, fleshy elbows (for which an anatomical girth has helped). But I've noticed tonight on one side the skin of her elbows looks a little inflamed and she was very stroppy about me touching it.
On her other rubs I've already tried the usual like sudocrem, wound powder and vaseline, I've tried sulphur and rosemary cream and washing with salt water - none of which have helped. She's sponged down after every ride so there's very little sweat left behind.
Any suggestions what I can do to help her? Her skin is so sensitive and hate the thought she's sore, but I'm all out of ideas!!
