Skin so soft quickie question

All you regular SSS users. I have just got the dry oil fresh spray as you all recommend it so highly. Could you tell me how generous I need to be with it. Is it a light spray all over. Maybe to get an idea, how many applications would be in the bottle for a 16hh horse. Also how
often does it need to be applied,every day, once a week?. Does it need
respraying after rain.
I see some use it neat others dilute, so I'm guessing water (rain) won't reduce effectiveness.
Also, does anyone know why it works. What is the magic ingredient ? Just wondered why it's the sss green fresh that does the trick, rather than other dry oils.

i mix mine with pig oil (or baby oil in the past) to make it go farther.

The green/blue label has citronella in, a light spray over the rump, belly and in the tail works wonders, I also put it on my hands to wipe round face

I spray all over whenever the flys are about. It's great having something you can use on your horse and yourself that doesn't smell like horrid fly spray!

Thanks both. I've been spraying them every other day and am really impressed. One of them had a tail root like a bog brush from rubbing it up stable wall as soon as she came in. (not sweet itch just irritated) hasn't done it since using SSS.
Your right, it smells lovely as well.
