Mmm, I use the blue one: seem to remember a thread on here a good while ago where someone said the blue one is the one you want for horses, think that was the original product, the others are ones they've done since.
Its good stuff, but I wish that (1) they'd make it in a bigger container and (2) that they'd somehow "invent" a way of it NOT going all congealed in cooler weather. Its a blimmin nuisance!
Also the spray pump mechanism isn't terribly robust; best thing is to decant it and/or mix up into your own flyspray recipe.
The Skin so Soft that is recommended for use on horses, among other animals, is the Bath Oil Original in a plastic, non-spray bottle. It has an aqua blue cap and lettering. I've been buying my SSS from the States because the bottles are so large. The ones I use are 709 ml (24 fl.oz.).
I'm not quite sure what other people are using, but my SSS never congeals in cold weather. I keep bottles of it in our unheated, very cold tack room.
Just to add: I just went to Amazon and noticed that the bottles have changed since I last purchased my SSS. As long as it is the Original Bath Oil, I guess it's the same as the product I've been using for years.
Can someone send me the link to the best one to use please? My poor girly is getting bitten to bits no matter what spray I put on her and she gets a bit too hot in a fly rug and mask!
It's the bluey/geen label you need, used by the armed forces overseas.
It wasn't effective last year for some reason, but is very good this year, both for people and horses, really does smell nice
I have bought this-the Dry Oil Original. Can you use it straight onto the horse or are you best to mix with water to make a fly spray.Thought I read somewhere that you have to be a bit careful if used directly as someone's horse got burnt.Just wanted to double check on best way to use.
