I have a 3yr old collie that is very skinny as he spends all day rounding up my chooks! Can anyone recommend a good dog food for weight gain? He's as fit as a fiddle but sooooooo bony!!

have you tried working dog mix? also helps to feed them just before they go to bed for the night.
Our collie is very lean too, he spends all day chasing cyclists that come through our yard rather than using the diverted bridle path!!

Raw tripe is good for increasing weight. You can buy it frozen
from most pet stores, just defrost and feed,there's no smell unless it's cooked.

Eagle Pack is great-the only thing that put weight on my beardie X when he was younger, think you can only get it online though-quite high in oil and fat with good quality meat protein.

Maybe also try feeding him 2/3 times a day and make sure he rests for an hour or so after each feed? Difficult with a young collie I know

Thankyou - I'll look into that!! I feed him twice a day ATM but maybe I could fit another one in! Trouble is I also have 2 Jacks who could live on fresh air so will have to distract them and yes I think I'll need to lock him in a bit more as he's out from approx 7am till 10 at night either rounding up the chooks or sitting watching their every move!!!
