why not replace the alfa a with a mollassed chaff my knowledge of happy hoof is that it is a low calorie feed for horses and ponies and specifically for laminitic control

if you want to put weight on your mare but with no fizziness i would suggest you feed something like calm and condition that way you get the condition with out the fizz.

you could try spillers or saracen feed help lines they are excellent with advice

ad-lib hay/haylage (haylage if possible)
Try corn oil in her feed - you van gt it from the supermarket quite cheap
Change the happy hoof to Alfa A, or Alfa A oil
Has she been wormed recently? Good that teeth are being checked.
Keep a close eye on her, if she loses much more weight you may need the vet to do some blood tests, its a funny time of year to be losing weight for no apparent reason

Most warmbloods take a couple of weeks to get used to Alfa A. Try it again. It's nicknamed "rocket fuel" on my yard but my girl has gone from manic to amazingly chilled still being fed it.

Feed a couple of spoonfuls of Cod liver oil. I wouldn't worry if her ribs are slightly showing if she's well muscled & fit, tbh, just as long as they're not poking out.

I can't feed my boy alfa a, not only sends him mad but actually changes his temperament.
I feed mine Spillers conditioning cubes, although most people use Baileys No4 (personal preference) both are great at putting weight on, I find that Spillers doesn't heat up whereas Baileys can but I think my horse is just sensitive!

Agree with marchtime about alfa a and baileys no4. Have used spillers conditioning cubes with great results and no fizziness for my fizzy TB. Alfa a oil is really good for all round condition too

i'd definitely feed alfa oil if its not prone to going a bit mental, but baileys no 4 topline conditioning cubes do a fantastic job of putting weight on without blowing their brains.

my warmblood piled on the weight and topline with the cubes, together with beet and alfa original

I have a Dutch Warmblood who is very sensitive, she goes mad on Happy Hoof and Alfa! She gets bran, chaff to bulk up the feed and limestone! And also Baileys Number 4 and I'm now feeding Falcon Bio-Care mix which is amazing. When I first got her though she was very skinny and really mad, I fed Her Chaff, Bran, No.4 as well as Barley Rings and Readi Grass and she put on the weight well without fizzing up! Its sometimes best to bulk them out if they are on the fizzy side!

Happy Hoof and Speedibeet are both lamintis trust approved so i'm not suprised they're not putting weight on her. if you want to avoid high starchy feeds but want to put weight on have a look at the wienrgy ones. they had a thing on their website recently about doing a trial if you had a skinny horse and lots of people on here think the feeds are really good.

its winergy equilibrium-google it and first one will be it. It is incredible stuff, has already put weight on zak when nothing else did
