skinny livery, would you report me?

If I was seriously concerned, I would report you, (if I didn't know you. If i knew you and u didn't do a thing about it after I'd spoken to you, I'd only report you then)

However, if I ever get reported for anything I have no issues at all with demonstrating my management of them.

I would far rather people reported things rather than allow serious neglect.

I havent read every page but have seen photos of 2 horses and a small pony.
They all look to be in poor condition. Are they wormy? Are they receiving enough calories?

I dont really understand the point of this post. Its basically to make a point that what you see is not always what you get - ie. these thin horses had underlying issues etc. But the thing is reporting you doesnt mean you should take it personally. The authorities would soon understand WHY they were in said condition, but its up to them to investigate and work that out for themselves. People walking past your field cant determine that, they also would be mad to approach you about it at risk of getting punched.

I think its GOOD people report, we should encourage it. You can't overdo it, its far better to be safe than sorry IMO!

Having been a supporter of BER in the past, I visited and was disgusted by the state the horses were being kept in. Field covered in crap, ragwort and horse dropping obviously not collected.

Sadly I felt that it was someone trying to do good that became overwelmed with their 'success' and ended up with far too many rescue horses.

I would rather see any of mine PTS than end up in a rescue home like that no matter how well meaning the owner is (and I know she really does care)

Just my opinion.

Not quite sure why I even bother to reply to a thread that is from last year but........

If I saw 3 horses that were all skinny on the same yard and belonging to the same owner then YES I would report you. And if the horses were all being taken care of properly then the owner will have nothing to worry about.

In all honesty? I would definitely report the condition of the horses. I don't know you from Adam so logically I would not go up into your own property and confront you, i have no right nor the gall.

But my conscious would not let me sleep at all. BUT it's nothing personal to you, my only concern is the horse/s in question nothing more, nothing less.

If one has nothing to hide then no problem on having a welfare check, if it were me I would be pleased that people cared as much as I did about the horses under my care :) yes really!

Well done BTW, you have done a great job x

I know this is an old thread, but I have only just seen it, and I remember how nasty you were Mairi, when I reported the mare in these pictures to the RSPCA. She was put to sleep as soon as the vet had examined her as she had pneumonia. At least now I understand all your 'stay away from my yard' threats, although your horses look positively glowing in comparison.

Somethingorother, thank you for your post on my thread about the poor mare, and to the others that were nice, it was a bad enough day without Mairi's comments on top. Although at least I understand a bit better now why you are so defensive Mairi.

How very strange that you haven't posted for a year and now this... why?
