Hi again
I got my rescue springador in April and I believe she is approx 10 years old. She seems to find it hard to keep weight on, even though she gets the same amount of food as my heavy duty German Shepherd. He is on a gluten free diet (Autarky Summer years) and they have the same diet. I give them an egg each twice a week and tehy're reguarly wormed. She's had a check up at he vets and aside from serious ear damage caused by years of untreated infections, she's as strong as an ox, she was even spayed this week and made a super quick recovery.
I can't work out how to feed her, I'm not sure how a higher level of protein would affect her given her age but she obviously needs more than she's getting. She's very fit and very active (free run of an acre garden all day) and shows no signs of any other problems, touch wood.
So, what I can I feed her to ensure she stays a decent weight? And just to clarify I am very aware of overweight labradors and I'm not just wanting to spoil her, she is genuinly skinny to the extent that you can see nearly all her ribs sometimes.
Love Jules x
