This was Skye's run in the D.I.N. grade 3 final, there were nearly 400 dogs in the qualifiers, 40 dogs in the final and Skye came 4th!

Very good!!

So looking forward to taking H out! Going to enter him into a steeplchase soon! :)

Can tell I'm getting "into" it. I wasn't watching your dog, I was watching you trying to get tips for body language!! ha ha! H is good at agility... I let him down.... a lot!

Don't watch me!!! I'm not so good at body language, I'm always told off for not using both hands, I teach my dogs good direction on my voice commands.

Fantastic you are so in sync with each other. Well done.

Just lost my BC and after a little time out I am keen to start again so it was fab to watch this!!

Wow, very good. we had an agility competition today and the largest class was about 10 or 11! still managed 2 firsts with the inuit (only 1 other dog was not a collie) and 1 first with the JRT, the both also shared judges choice, he said it was nice to see other dogs other than collies run (although he had a fab collie of his own)

Thanks all.

Well done lovely round, how long has it taken to get to that level, and how many other breeds were competing?.

Dobiegirl, Skye started at grade 3 as my other dogs won me out of Elementary (now grade 1) and Starters (now grade 2), before Skye was born. She's 5.5 years old now, she started training agility when she was about 10 months old and started competing at 18 months old, she had 5 months out last year to have a litter of puppies, then qualified for Crufts when she came back to agility where she got a 4th in Novice Agility (grades 3 - 5). She's had 2 2nd places in agility, but that 1st has eluded her (to move up to grade 4), but when the classes have 150 - 200 dogs in them! I've been competing at agility for 11.5 years. I have posted some pics on here of me training her daughter this year (now aged 17 months).

is it maily collies in the top classes or are there other breeds as well?

For the classes that are the non collie ones (the ABC ones), how do they define collie? clearly if they are collies then they are out, but what about collie mixes and ones that dont look tooo collie like but are collie crosses?

It's mainly Border Collies in the top classes, but there are some other breeds like Kelpies and Belgium Shepherds.

ABC classes are special classes, so you have to read each schedule for their rules, but usually it excludes Border Collies (and WSD) and their crosses, you rely on the owners being truthful with the crosses, but the judges decision is final.

Well done! I took my Patterdale to an agility class for the first time on Thursday and she loved it, don't know how I'm going to keep up though!
