Skylla's bootcamp is continuing and I really think she much prefers doing a little something everyday, she seems to like the routine and knowing whats expected :). We have carried on long-lining and then I got back on board on sunday, just walk and trot but not a hint of a buck :D.

Onto last night and after walking her round and then doing some trot and canter, I was about to get on when the heavens opened and Skylla had a melt-down, she apparently is a little bit mard about icy rain :o;). So after a bit of convincing that she wouldn't melt I got on and walked her off, she was foot perfect!

Think she may be a horse that settles with a more constant routine, though I'm concious I don't want to over do it with her. Hoping she continues to believe that humans shouldn't be given flying lessons ;).

May the no bucking continue! Pictures next time please :p

Haha many apologies, the weather has been grim for photo opportunities! She had the night off tonight as storm Jake is in full force here, so will see how she reacts tomorrow, but will make sure her antics are recorded ;).

i rode Goof every day for a couple of weeks when he came home, like you say they need to get in a routine.

then i started doing 2 days on, 1 off etc and then let him have 2 days off in a row and now he can go 3 days in a row and be NO different at all and TBH i think even a week off wouldnt change him :)

Yes I did think of you and if a couple of weeks constant work can get her to settle like Goof then I'll be very pleased. Will see how she reacts tonight after a day off, should be interesting.

Yay excellent :D we've got as far as 2 days no work and still being ok, 3 days results in fizziness but ok, bring in company though and apparently we have to have a few minutes bunny hopping / bouncing but, (touching wood madly) no broncing before we settle no matter how much work we've had. Hopefully with time this will go as well though.

In fairness to her she only had the one moment, which unfortunately coincided with then having a week or so off with a cut on her leg before I could get back on, so I don't think she should be branded a bronco'er just yet. But it's been a very good opportunity to reinforce that it is not behaviour for the school :D.

Excited to see how she goes tonight as before this we were doing two days on and around 2/3 days off with good results, but the break of 7-10 days was clearly too long!

Fingers crossed the bunny hopping with fizzle out, but Topaz says bouncing is for the win and she's 13 this time ;). Will update you all with how she goes tonight!

Progress, progress :)

Don't blame her having a moment in the icy rain :D

:D well no I didn't enjoy the ice shower either, especially as I'd taken my coat off as it's hot work long-lining! However she worked through it and he objection was relegated to just stoppping and trying to keep her delicate face out of the nasty weather :D, she's a poppet really :).

Picture to add interest ;), sorry nothing on the move as we were on our own!

Halo is back on!!!!!! Love this baby horse so much :D, ridden walk, trot and canter check :D.

We had two tiny weehaa moments on the lines to start but only excited ones. She was a little despondent about not being allowed to continue but decided it was ok :D. Got on and worked on calm transitions and slowing the trot down a touch, she's a little zoomy left to her own devices. Pushed my luck and cantered both reins, still had a buck into right canter and we are mega wonky left but she was very good for a baby :) and she didn't launch me :D.
