My loan horse went to the vets last night to have her legs looked at, owner mentioned something about a solid lump out of the side of her jaw.
Vet had been out to do her teeth at the end of September and was aware of the slab fracture, but since then, it had got progressively worse.
It's the second pre molar, so not too far back in the mouth, but as a result of the slab fracture, the tooth is being pushed out by the two either side, which means this is going out into her gum.
This morning she was due to have the tooth removed under sedation, but even with a huge dosage she was still having none of it
Therefore, she has got to have a general anaesthetic tomorrow afternoon to have it removed while she is knocked out.
Has anyone got any experiences of this? How was the recovery process and length? Any differences you noticed in your horse?
Many thanks
Lizzie.
