We had had such a good hour, little jumping, swim in the river, and lateral work , and then a second's lapse in concentration......

Really extra upsetting as I'll now find it hard to trot the ponies round the school at RDA, as well as everything else horsey I have to do.

Ow!! bet that made your eyes water. Complicated things knees...painkillers, elevation and ice, and arnica cream/pills if you've got some. Hope you feel better soon.

I know how you feel. I was trying to load my stubborn mare this morning wearing my flimsy rubber wellies. She hauled me down the ramp and I smashed my big toe on a boulder. It's purple now and I think it might be broken! Great since I'm accompanying a nursery trip of 20 kids to the "build a bear workshop" tomorrow

I was lucky that hubs was down the yard fixing up our trailer - he heard the scream, bless him. Poor Shy was really concerned, and didn't know which way to go. And after being such a fab boy too.

You have my sympathy. A couple of years ago a friend and I went out for a hack and had to negotiate a number of gates. Went through the first couple with no problems then got a spring loaded one and as horse had been smacked on the arse by one previously she shot through and smacked my knee off the metal keeper My knee stung then went numb so being me we carried on with our hack By the time we got back to the yard the bruising was starting to come out and after a couple of days it looked like I had been kneecapped by a baseball bat

Hope you heal quickly and are ok in a day or two

Ouch!! I slammed my shin into a fixed wooden gate post but luckily it gave way last minute, still have the dent left though!!

Milk it as much as possible - and plenty of arnica!

I know how you feel, I hit another horse at speed a couple of weeks ago and managed to dislocate the patella; the pain was indescribable. My sympathy goes out to you. Hope you heal quickly!
