...does this harness fit? The neck seems fine and when I'm pulling hard on it it seems to be the right length, but if I let it go and she stands up it sort of rides up and looks too short?

It does look a little small. The harness should come down a few inches from the start of the tail.

it should reach the base of the tail, yes, but not when it is slack.

Here's one with me pulling it quite hard:
It's about an inch too short, isn't it?
It's a 22" neck, the next size up has a 24" neck so is going to be too big I think?

I know nothing about dog harnesses but, in general terms, I would expect a young dog like her to fill out and muscle up with (presumably) an increase in workload from starting to tow you about so maybe she will grow into the 24" harness. Would it be possible to pad out a 24" one to start with?

I suppose I could always pop a few stitches in the neck opening to make it a bit smaller to start with?! (*sewing numpty*). You may well be right Brownmare, I've just emailed the pics to the retailer to ask her opinion, they're usually pretty good about exchanges.

Some woos just don't fit off the peg, most harnesses suppliers will make you a harness to fit your dog, I can give you some links if you want?

Vikki at Snowpaw has just talked me through some elaborate tape measuring and we reckon the large will fit, fingers crossed.
If it doesn't I was thinking Culpeppers, or is there another one I don't know about? She is a really odd shape, too tall and too long with a scrawny neck.
