I've avoided this for a couple of weeks but I think a fair few of you followed my posts when I was younger about Blackie (when my username was Back_2_Black!) so I wanted to post about it. It might not make a lot of sense I apologise :o

Three days after we lost our old girl Flicka, which we had put down to old age, Blackie started to show the same symptoms and two days later she died :(
It was me who found her dead in the barn and it was awful, and I hate how unfair it is that she died.
She was the pony that everyone wants to have, perfect nature and never ever put a foot wrong. She was a brilliant equine therapy pony and everybody who met her loved her so much. It is a testament to her just how many phonecalls or emails had to be made breaking the news to people.
It is still strange not having her around and she will always be missed at Mossburn.

I don't want to go into it too much, Blackie went for a PM which found nothing. Losing two in a week was devastating and it is frustrating not knowing what it was but we are relieved that none of the others have gotten it.

Although I didn't begin to learn to ride on Blackie, she taught me the most and whilst the nature of a rescue centre means you see a lot of comings and goings this is the hardest goodbye for me.
So run free sweetheart, so many memories xx

She gave back more than we gave her, and she gave everything to the end having to have a PM bless her.

So sorry for the loss of your special girl. She looked such a lovely, kind girl. Her and Flicks are back together now, running free, whole and healthy again. Big (((hugs))) for you, and all who loved her at Mossburn.

I remember when you used to post about her a lot. So sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful girl.
 
I am so sorry, how utterly heartbereaking to loose two so close and not not be able to find out why. They clearly had a great life and gave you so much. The pain will ease eventualy and you will have wonderful memories to smile about rather than cry.
