We said goodbye today to a very very special pony.
Connie was 31 and spent the last 14 years of her life at Mossburn. She was worked hard as a showjumper and won a lot of rosettes until she was in a trailer which flipped over in an accident. She wouldn't load in trailers after that, and she came to us.

She was a one in a million pony, the most sweet-natured, gentle and caring pony you could ever meet.
She bit me last week, which was the most out of character thing she could have done, nobody could believe it. Because of her cushings her pituitary gland had grown and was pressing on her brain, causing her pain and behaviour changes. It was a straightforward decision but an extremely difficult one all the same, and one I am glad was not mine to make.

She taught me to ride, gave me and so many others some great memories and we will all miss her so much. There will be many tears from a lot of people for this special girl today, who owe her so much and she owes us nothing at all.
She had one last morning with the sun on her back, a good groom, a lot of cuddles and fell asleep peacefully and quickly.

Sleep tight beautiful, I'm sure Jasper and Red were waiting for you xx

bless her, what a lucky pony to have been so well looked after in her latter years....mine has cushings and is 21 so its nice to know that she lived happily till 31......r.i.p. connie

I'm just happy I had the pleasure of knowing her and we could give her a peaceful ending.
Very hard day, was tough carrying on with the mucking out and feeding with it hanging over us but with a rescue centre you just have to keep muddling along.
Hardest goodbye we have had to say though xx

Oh Siobhan my heart goes out to you and all those at Mossburn. Let it be a comfort knowing how loved she was by all, and she can join the others now too. Run free beautiful girl x

What a sweetheart. Lovely cuddly pony who seems to have had a great life and was given a dignified and love-filled send off. Sorry to read of your loss but hope she's cantering over the rainbow bridge with her friends now x
