I just wanted to say a big thank you, to everyone who has helped in the past with my questions about how to get things sorted, to get my little boy back to the UK. Sadly it was not to be and he isn’t coming home, which has stripped all the excitement out of finally getting home, as we are so desperately unhappy where we are.

“Yesterday my heart was broken, for you, my little boy, left this world and cantered off over rainbow bridge. You were 33 years old and you came into my life 15 years ago, when I found you in a terrible condition, we’ve hardly been apart in those past 15 years, with me never wanting to leave your side, as you have only truly trusted me.

I’m so proud to have been able to be your human, the one person you allowed to do anything to, when you remained so wary of everyone else. We shared a bond and you knew I would always keep you safe and never fail you.

Yesterday was the hardest day, you trusted mummy right up to the end and I am so incredibly proud of you little man, I will see you again, I’m sure. I’ll continue to look after your herd, who you so diligently took care of, mummy’s got this now Harry, you rest now little man. My heart has broken and a huge chunk has left with you. I hope you know how much you are still loved.”

Thank you everyone, losing him here, in a country that has been so unpleasant to live in, has been so tough. I begged the vet practice for the most senior vet and they sent the amazing older gent that came a few years ago when my little lad had colic. He was amazing and I couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful passing. Poor hubby is very traumatised but coping, as he held him, while I had the rest of his herd in the barn distracted so they couldn’t see anything.

It’s incredibly different here, having to move him ourselves yesterday to leave out for collection today was very tough, as theres no angels here that turn up and move and load while you make yourself scarce like there is in the UK. We had to move him a long way to the roadside and I had to keep reminding myself that it’s no longer him, so he will forgive me for leaving him there alone overnight. Thank god the Wolves did not come last night.

We sat out later on having a drink and hubby (the calmest person in the world), gasped and said look up, there’s an angel with a “H” on its back (he doesn’t tend to believe in things like this usually) and there was the most incredible sight in the sky, it had started to fade by the time I grabbed my phone but we were both so shocked that there was a clear letter “H” on a cloud that resembled no other clouds in the sky.

I’ll post the photo but please, please, please, if you don’t believe in signs or want to dismiss it, please don’t comment, just scroll on by, as this imagine in the sky has helped us massively to know he’s ok.

I sent it to friends, who immediately said they saw a horses head to the right, with doves next to it and the letter “H” for Harry (which was unbelievably clear before I grabbed my phone). I hope this photo might give comfort to anyone else going through/having gone through similar.

I always say they go cantering off in the clouds and he really did - I'm so very, very sorry you had to say goodbye. It sounds like he had the perfect retirement with you and wanted for nothing. Sleep tight little one xx

I'm so sorry about Harry, there's no doubt he knew he was loved.

I was always sceptical about these things until I held my friend's horse for him to be PTS. It was a showery day and at the moment he left us, a rainbow appeared. 2 minutes later it was gone. It was very comforting and I'm sure the clouds were for you too. Sending hugs.

I am so, so sorry. 😢

Harry had a wonderful life with you, and you were there for him right up until the very end. Such a beautiful picture of the clouds - I see it too.

RIP Harry 🐎🌈

So sorry for your loss of Harry. Such a beautiful tribute, and so blessed to have that kind of bond with a pony…he was a lucky boy.
