I’m looking for a half decent slicker brush for my Lakeland x Border terrier. His coat is dense but fine soft hairs rather than wirey. I’ve bought cheap ones in the past but the wire prongs falls out so I’d like one that is a little bit more robust. Anyone got any recommendations?

I bought mine from pets at home and I use it on my little cairn cross every day, I think it is a Mikki brush no wire has fallen out yet. I also had a bigger one for my collie cross that gets rid of the hair with the push of a button , that one is the groom room slicker . I found both have lasted well

Mikki stuff is generally hardwearing. I've got a rake that's the best and only grooming tool I use any more, it's that good.

We have a slicker brush somewhere that must be 50 years old and still going strong.
