Thank you if you take the time to read this, as I am hoping for a little advice...

Horse in question is a large, big framed belgian warmblood. Rising 4yo.

We have been considering a very lovely young BWP and was planning booking a vetting soon. However, i noticed last night that one of his feet behind is slightly broken forward (boxy) and it has feaked me out. He seems good up front with nice hooves proportionate to his frame size, and is shod in front. However, behind he is currently barefoot and one is good but one not so.

The horse would be purchased as a showjumper hence why im even more sceptical.

Should i walk away? Any thoughts welcome. :-)

That's my initial thought too Twiggy2. Just never come across one so posted for personal experiences. Such a shame as well cos hes seriously nice otherwise :(

I am in the camp of "there is no such thing as a perfect horse". There is always going to be a fault. If he is perfect in every other way, I recommend you don't back away just yet. I would still get the vetting done. If he passes, ensure the asking price is fair for his potential but also takes this minor conformation fault into account.

But that's just my personal opinion. Ultimately in this case I think you should go with your gut.

Rivendell speaks for me too, but I'd also say that given you're "asking" us here - you really like this horse. Perfection I feel is often best left to those buying unseen (upon approval of vet) with a blank cheque book. Back in the real world perfection is indeed a hard thing to find.
