2 yo NF is slightly lame on the near front leg. Sound in walk, slight nod in trot, won't let me pick out off side front leg as doesn't want to put full weight onto the near front. No heat, some light swelling creaping up from the Frog bulbs to the fetlock joint. He is resisting pressure on the bulbs and pastern and is standing very upright- not leaning back in a laminitic stance (if that makes sense?) There is some mud fever like scabbiness in the area and one yellowish looking small skin graze- but fields are not muddy?? Any ideas? Has been slightly lame for 48 hours approx now.

I noticed it approx 6pm on Tuesday eve- but might it be related to the fact that the gate to field was of hinges and the 3 youngsters were in the next field with 3 older horses?

Have posted to find a good vet- as we only moved a week ago- so not registered with any as yet.
