Snoopy is still down and out, they didnt start the op until 2:50.
I rang at 5:30 to be told they cannot remove the bone chips, they are too inbedded.
If he gets up they hope to treat in a month with medication.
I guess if not then theres not much else he can do other than be pts.

Words cant describe how low I feel right now.

Im still waiting to hear if hes got up, but when i rang an hour ago he was still out.

Oh V - I'm sorry

That's all you need this year! Am crossing everything for him to get up *come on Snoops*

Snoopy has just got up from the recovery box.

Apparently the chips are in the sesamoid joint so because they cant remove them we are to treat it as a ligament problem.

He can come home either Fri/Sat and be on box rest for a month lightly bandaged.

The second month he will be treated with a HA and steriod injection and then be allowed to be lightly walked out in hand.

The third month still on box rest but able to be ridden.

If he goes lame again they will seek a second opinion.

Im just releaved hes up now. Shall go and visit him tomorrow afternoon.

Thank you for your kind words, still very teary but much happier hes now up.

I am so glad he is up, and sorry that they could not remove the bone chips

Fingers crossed though the treatment works for him and after that third month of box rest he is back to full working order and the chips are no longer causing him any problems.

I am still thinking of you and Snoopy and sending all my healing vibes.

oh god BBs i really really really do feel for you

all the healing vibes i can muster are being sent in Snoops direction and loads of hugs for you! you are so so unbelievably brave, i have everything crossed for you i really do xxx

Having now read your second update...

bloomin' sesamoids! they are so awkward! Fiddler's bone cyst was in his sesamoids which is why they couldnt treat it and therefore he had to be pts

Really hope the treatment works for Snoops - you really really deserve some good luck now
