My big boy (cob) is carrying excess weight, so I am feeding him half a haynet of soaked hay during the day then he is turned out on grass with 2 others during the night. I try to ride him out everyday and the days I don't ride him, I lunge him in the school.
My question is when I get down to the yard early evening his soaked hay is all gone, I imagine he probably scoffs it all within a few hours then is without for 4-5 hours. A friend of mine says he shouldn't be that long without forage, however if you were out on all day hack or hunting which can be all day they are going without food? Am I right?
